The role

We're looking for a couple of Senior Front-End Developers as well as Lead UI Developers to join our front-end development team. You'll be responsible for driving forward the user experience of the Selz platform and setting standards for the rest of the team to follow. This is a remote working position.


Your responsibilities will include:-

  • Work closely with our in-house designer to implement designs to a high degree of quality
  • Maintain coding standards within the team and review pull requests
  • Mentor junior members of the front-end team


Additional responsibilities for Leads:

  • Take ownership of the front-end for the multiple Selz applications 
  • Recruit and manage new team members 


What you need to have

  • 5+ years experience working with cutting-edge modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experience with React (and Preact) and component-based systems 
  • Experience with jQuery and jQuery plugins and knowledge of “vanilla” JavaScript. You’re comfortable to edit a plugin or comfortably write your own
  • Comfortable working with designs in Sketch and Zeplin
  • A solid understanding of using Git and GitHub
  • Experience with Gulp & Webpack 
  • A great eye for detail and experience working closely with other designers to fill in the gaps
  • Extensive experience with responsive CSS, especially in the context of designing and building responsive application UIs
  • A knack for writing semantically meaningful, reusable HTML markup
  • Familiarity with building for accessibility
  • A good understanding of client-side performance tuning, security and optimization (caching, CDNs, request management, cookies, http, https, etc.)
  • A proven preference for pragmatism over dogma (you should be able to argue for or against any tech or design decision in a cogent and objective way)
  • Proactively identify new and emerging trends and suggest ways how we can use them
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team


Bonus Skills


  • Exposure to the Shopify's Liquid syntax
  • Exposure to Prismic 
  • Exposure to C# .NET MVC and Visual Studio
  • Exposure to Node.js
  • Exposure to NoSQL databases like Mongo
  • Knowledge of using AWS services - particularly S3 and Cloudfront
  • Knowledge of HTTP; requests, responses, headers and caching
